The Premier League is a ‘completely different sport’ according to Djordje Petrovic

Djordje Petrovic, who recently replaced the injured Robert Sanchez as Chelsea’s number one goalkeeper, has expressed his view that playing in the Premier League is like “a completely different sport” compared to his previous experiences in his career. Petrovic, who joined Chelsea from New England Revolution in August has been thrust into action since December due to Sanchez’s injury. Despite the challenges, Petrovic has enjoyed the opportunity to play in the Premier League, as it has always been a dream for him. He believes that playing in this highly competitive league allows him to improve his skills. Petrovic’s previous experience includes replacing Matt Turner as New England’s number one goalkeeper in 2022 when Turner was signed by Arsenal. Besides his time in Major League Soccer, Petrovic has had a brief stint with Serbian side Cukaricki. Sanchez is expected to be out with a knee injury until end of January, which means Petrovic will continue to be Chelsea’s starting goalkeeper for the next few weeks.
