5-star WR target Caleb Cunningham planning a return visit to the Noles in March

Class of 2025 five-star WR target Caleb Cunningham is planning a return visit to Florida State in March.

We have discussed the possibility of his high school teammate, Jaime Ffrench Jr., from Mandarin High School in Jacksonville, Florida. This makes a ton of sense considering that the five-star recently de-committed from the Alabama Crimson Tide after legendary head football coach Nick Saban retired.

However, wide receivers coach Ron Dugans has been a man on a mission when it comes to acquiring talent at his position via the recruiting trail. Coach Dugans has secured seven prospects over the past two recruiting cycles.

As a wise man once said, you can never have too many playmakers in an offense. Head football coach Mike Norvell likes the idea of being versatile in his offensive scheme where he puts wide receivers in the best position to be successful. There will be a huge void to fill in 2024 as veterans Johnny Wilson and Keon Coleman are off to the NFL.

This allows younger contributors to step up in meaningful roles, which excites prospects who are interested in Florida State. This is because the coaching staff is not afraid to play the players early in their respective careers if they can help the team become successful.

One notable target that has taken notice of what the Seminoles have done is five-star Caleb Cunningham from Choctaw County High School in Ackerman, Mississippi. The talented playmaker visited the Seminoles on Sunday afternoon as he was heading back home from his trip to Gainesville.

While it was a relatively short visit in Tallahassee, Cunningham did mention in the exit meeting with a variety of media members that he would be returning to campus on March 23rd. It is also reasonable to think that there is a chance that is a possibility that he could attend the Garnet and Gold Spring Showcase.

Overall, it is always difficult to recruit prospects in the state of Mississippi since they prefer to stay in the region (think about former quarterback commit Luke Altmyer). Especially considering that Cunningham has two crystal ball predictions in favor of the home-state Mississippi State Bulldogs. However, the coaching staff has to continue to put their best foot forward with the five-star prospect.
