Celtics Show Trade Interest in Multiple Utah Jazz Players

According to Brian Robb of MassLive.com, the Boston Celtics have expressed interest in trading for Kris Dunn and Simone Fontecchio of the Utah Jazz.

The Celtics have been linked to more than just two Jazz players in recent trade rumors, as a report from earlier this week indicated that Boston is interested in big man Kelly Olynyk as well.

Fontecchio, 28, is in his second season with the Jazz franchise. He is averaging 8.9 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game on 45.0 percent shooting from the field and 39.1 percent from deep in 50 games played with Utah so far this season.

Dunn, meanwhile, is averaging 5.2 points, 4.3 assists, 0.9 steals and 0.5 blocks per game in the 2023-24 regular season, his seventh season in the pros.

Olynyk and Fontecchio’s ability to shoot the ball from behind the 3-point line and Dunn’s defensive chops would make all three players worthwhile additions for the Celtics, at least on paper.

But the clock is ticking for the Celtics to make a trade before the end of the season, considering the trade deadline is on Feb. 8.
