Tiger Woods’ food order on his PGA Tour return divides opinion

Tiger Woods is back in PGA Tour action at this week’s Genesis Invitational, and during his preperation at Riviera Country Club, the 15-time major champion enjoyed an In-N-Out burger

Tiger Woods has split opinion with his In-N-Out order at this week’s Genesis Invitational as the 48-year-old tucked into a burger ahead of his PGA Tour return.

Woods is taking part in his first PGA Tour event of the year in Los Angeles this week, but it is not just his golf game that has caught the eye of fans. In the build-up to the event, the 15-time major champion was seen taking advantage of the on-site In-N-Out stand.

A clip of the golfing great being handed his order has since gone viral online, where Woods reveals he takes his burger without pickles, which has caused a stir on social media.

The tournament host was handed his double double order, before picking out the pickles and tossing them into a nearby bin. Clearly on side with Woods’ pickle-less stance, one fan tweeted on X (formerly Twitter ): “Tiger my man! Team no pickles!”

This was echoed by a second, who added: “Pickles are a delicious side and don’t belong on Hamburgers. Tiger got it right,” before a third wrote: “The [greatest of all time] knows pickles are trash.” Despite plenty siding with Woods, not everybody was on board with his pickle stance.

“Throwing pickles away solidifies Jack [Nickluas] as the goat [greatest of all time].” This was followed by a second critic, he wrote on X: “I’ve never lost more respect for [Woods] than finding out he trashed perfectly good pickles. The nerve.” A third then added: “This is wild. No longer can I support Tiger.”

Away from his burger choice, the trip to Riviera is a big one for Woods. Not only is the former world No. 1 competing in his first event of the campaign, and acting as tournament host, he also opted to announce his new clothing line, Sun Day Red earlier in the week.

Woods announced he had split with Nike Golf last month after an iconic 27-year partnership, and has since opted to team up with his club supplier, TaylorMade to create his own apparel brand. The line is a nod to the iconic red shirt he has worn throughout his career whilst competing in the final round of tournaments.

Announcing the launch, Woods said in a statement : “I have learned so much over the years and have a lifetime of experience adjusting my apparel and footwear to help me play better based on the way it was constructed. “There are things that I could tell you that no one knew I was doing over the years.

“I’m ready to share those secrets with the world. Sun Day Red will embody a love of playing and competing, and we are for people that share those values, whether it’s on the course, or in life. We will be anchored to putting the athlete first in the product decisions we make.”

He debuted his new products in Thursday’s opening round at the Genesis, in what proved to be an up-and-down return for the five-time Masters champion. Woods carded five birdies and six bogeys throughout his round, to end the first round at one-over-par for the tournament.
