Sheboygan Packers fan joins Fan Hall of Fame after years of game ventures

GREEN BAY (WLUK) — The 26th member of the Packers FAN Hall of Fame is a Sheboygan man who has been spreading his love for the green and gold to travelers all over the world for 36 years.

Dan “Bogie” Bogenschuetz is a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan and has been attending games since the mid-60s.

“I remember when the season was over, they used to pile the snow up against the rails. We could go on the field after the game by sliding down the hills and we used to climb the goal posts. Those were the fun days. Don’t try and do it now,” Bogenschuetz said as he accepted his plaque at a ceremony Monday.

Since 1987, Bogenschuetz has organized group trips to home and away Packers games. He started off by taking family and friends and a few years later, he was organizing motor coach trips to both home and away games, taking as many as 320 people. Around the year 2000, Dan began to organize flights, where he takes between 56 and 110 people to games. Dan and his fellow Packers Backers have traveled to 26 different cities. In 2022, Dan took a group of eight to London for the Packers/Giants game.

“I remember the time I slept outside in Minnesota for three days and two nights just to get 320 Packer tickets and the next year I became a Vikings season ticket holder and a Lions season ticket holder just to get my 320 Packer tickets every year to go up there and then I would donate the other tickets to the Boys and Girls Clubs from those states,” Bogenschuetz.

This past year, Bogenschuetz said it was the first time he has had third generation joining him on trips.
