Tiger Woods, Tom Brady Among Stars Set for Seminole Pro-Member Golf Tournament 2024

There will be no shortage of star power during Monday’s Seminole pro-member tournament at Seminole Golf Club in Juno Beach, Florida.

Mark Schlabach of ESPN noted Tiger Woods will compete in the event for the first time and join a field that also includes NFL legend Tom Brady, Rory McIlroy, MLB commissioner Rob Manfred, LPGA star Nelly Korda, and other PGA Tour players in Tony Finau, Rickie Fowler, Matt Fitzpatrick, Collin Morikawa and Cameron Young.

Woods was grouped with Thomas, PGA of America CEO Seth Waugh and Mike Walrath, who is the CEO of the software company Yext:

Even with that star power, Woods figures to be the center of attention.

Playing in Monday’s relatively low-stakes event could be an ideal way for him to take strides toward potentially appearing in the Players Championship at TPC Sawgrass later this month and even the Masters in April.

While the 15-time major champion is arguably the greatest player in the history of the sport, Schlabach noted he has also withdrawn or missed the cut in four of his six starts since he suffered significant injuries in a February 2021 car accident.

His latest event was last month when he withdrew from the second round of the Genesis Invitational due to influenza that required IV bags to be treated. That was his first PGA Tour event since he withdrew from last year’s Masters in the third round.

It remains to be seen whether Woods will participate in the Players Championship, which is an event he won in 2001 and again in 2013.

The event, which starts on March 14, is one of the biggest on the PGA Tour’s calendar and a little less than a month before April’s Masters. It could be perfectly positioned on the calendar for Woods to participate and then have enough recovery time to be in the field at Augusta National Golf Club on April 11.
