Darts star tells referee ‘I’ve got to go’ and offers to THROW GAME in never-before-seen moment

DAMON HETA revealed that rival Simon Whitlock offered to “throw the game” after he desperately needed a toilet break.

Wizard of Oz Whitlock took an unscheduled trip to the loo with their match poised at 9-8 to Heta in the UK Open on Friday night.

It was an unprecedented situation with Whitlock heard to tell referee Huw Ware: “I’m gonna burst. I’ve got to go.”

Fellow Aussie Heta, who lost in the semis to eventual winner Dimitri Van den Bergh, spoke for the first time about the scene which has been dubbed as ‘loo-breakgate’.

He said: “He did say he would throw the game. He said I gotta go. I didn’t know until the end and Huw was like he made the adjudication.

“Sure enough he came back on board and I was fine with it. At the end of the day I got the job done.”

The crowd then hilariously greeted Whitlock when he arrived back at the stage with “Simon Whitlock, he s***s when he wants”.

Heta was clearly not put off by the distraction and the break as he soon dumped out his World Cup team-mate 10-8.

He added: “I didn’t know the rules at the time. There were little rules here and there.

“I took Huw’s word for it. You just roll with it. It’s a tough time to draft Daniel Jones and his wife.
