Noles are pushing heavily for 4-star WR target Daylan McCutcheon

Florida State has not secured any playmakers in their 2025 recruiting class to give to its future at the quarterback position, four-star Tramell Jones Jr.

The Seminoles’ wide receiver target board is changing rapidly as both five-star Jaime Ffrench Jr. and four-star Vernell Brown III is trending in a positive direction for the Ohio Buckeyes. While crystal ball predictions are a good indicator of things heading in a particular way, they should not be viewed as a one-hundred percent possibility.

Overall, wide receivers coach Ron Dugans has begun to showcase his recruiting prowess over the past two recruiting cycles where he has obtained seven prospects. However, the job is never finished at the position as elite teams always continue to churn out exceptional athletes.

One prospect to monitor in the cycle is four-star Daylan McCutcheon from Lovejoy High School in Lucas, Texas. According to a report from On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons, teams such as Florida State, Ohio State, and USC are pushing hard to obtain McCutcheon’s services.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are starting to obtain many talented playmakers by adding five-star Jeremiah Smith last cycle and now leading for both Jaime Ffrench Jr. and Vernell Brown III. Wide receivers coach Brian Hartline has been cooking with hot grease. I’m sure that Seminole fans are tired of seeing the Buckeyes mentioned in recruitments.

However, McCutcheon is a very skilled pass catcher who recorded 92 receptions for 1,423 yards and 19 touchdowns during the 2023 season. He would be a tremendous pickup for the Seminoles if they were able to land him.
