Americans’ company says it has listened to ‘community feedback’ after backlash over plans to convert a 1930s cinema

 

Tiger Woods and Justin Timberlake have revealed updated plans to turn a 1930s cinema into a T-Squared Social sports bar

 

Tiger Woods and Justin Timberlake have revised their plans to convert a 1930s cinema in St Andrews into a sports bar following “community feedback”.

 

The golf and music stars are partners in the gastropub business T-Squared Social, which already runs a pub in New York.

 

The pair eyed up the New Picture House on North Street, close to the Old Course, for their next sports bar venue.

 

However, their plans to turn the historic cinema into a bar were met with outrage from residents and councillors who abhorred the threat of Americanisation of the town.

 

T-Squared and Fife council have now reached a compromise following the criticism.

 

The original plans were to allow the 90-year-old cinema to keep one screen for theatrical releases. But now
