Senior Bowl Standout

 

Carter created some pre-draft buzz thanks in part to a strong outing in the Senior Bowl, a game the Bills have scouted annually since GM Brandon Beane and HC Sean McDermott have been at the franchise’s helm.

 

His standout performance included a sack on QB and the No. 8th overall pick in the first round of this year’s draft, Michael Penix Jr.

 

Decorated College Career

Carter was a part of the NCAA’s Oversight Committee for two years and earned All-ACC first-team honors during the 2023 season. He also won the Jack Tatum Award in college for community activities.

 

At 6-foot-2 and 302-pounds he logged 24.5 tackles for loss and 12 sacks in 48 games played in his college career.

 

Football Family

Carter comes from a football family.

 

His father played ball at Ohio State, his Uncle played RB at Notre Dame, and his grandfather played at Youngstown State.

Carter brings a key contribution to the Bills defensive line group that they’ve sorely missed during much of HC McDermott’s tenure.

The Bills’ new DT has also played across multiple positions from nose to edge while in college and is a multi-gap disruptor which holds high value in today’s NFL.

 

The Bills’ front office and coaching staff hold positional versatility in high regard when adding talent to their position group rotations.

At Duke, the defensive tackle majored in psychology where he earned his degree while also minoring in theater studies.

 

Per the Buffalo News, Carter said at the Senior Bowl that his minor in theater “was for me to branch out and use college for everything it had, I figured it would help with interviews and being in front of a camera.”
