I don’t think the effort is there”: Colts’ Kenny Moore II blasts team after three-game losing streak

Indianapolis Colts’s Kenny Moore II has done what few NFL players would think of doing: calling out their team after a bad game. That task is usually left to fans and analysts, but if a member of the team has to call out the team, it means that the situation is getting really dire.

Kenny Moore pointed fingers at his team after the 20-30 Buffalo Bills defeat impaired their record to 4-6, even though they are the second-best team in the AFC South.

The 29-year-old cornerback said the Colts weren’t working as hard as they should have, which is why their performance suffered. On Sunday, the Indianapolis Colts recorded their third straight losing game.

“Honestly, I don’t think the urgency is there,” Moore said. “I don’t think the details are there. So I don’t think the effort is there, and I don’t see everything correlating, from meetings to practice to the games and it shows you.”

According to him, the team lacked a sense of urgency and attention to detail, causing them to lose football games.

Colts fans had thought that veteran quarterback Joe Flacco replacing the young Anthony Richardson, who raised eyebrows after he tapped out of the Houston Texans game, would lead to more wins. But that seems not to have been the case so far.

Why are the Colts struggling so much?

The Colts are one of the youngest teams in the league right now, and that entails that they’re severely lacking in experience compared to other teams. Richardson, their 22-year-old QB, made many crucial mistakes during the games he started.

Starting Joe Flacco has several upsides but is still prone to throwing interceptions. When asked why he was sticking with Falcco, head coach Shane Steichen said that the only reason was that he had much more experience under his belt.

Moving on to their O-line and wideout department, Michael Pittman Jr. – the most experienced of their wideouts – is just five years into the NFL. Their O-line, too, is suffering from a lack of experience, with two rookies manning the line.

However, their weakness — the team’s age — could be their biggest strength in the coming years, provided the coaching staff nurtures and develops the talent correctly.

Can the team end their three-game losing streak when they take on the New York Jets next week?
