Buffalo Bills Place Rookie EDGE Landon Jackson on PUP List Ahead of Training Camp

The Buffalo Bills have officially placed rookie edge rusher Landon Jackson on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list as the team prepares to open training camp. The move comes as a precautionary measure as Jackson continues to recover from a minor, undisclosed injury sustained during offseason workouts.

Jackson, a fourth-round pick out of Arkansas, was one of the most anticipated rookie additions to Buffalo’s defensive unit this offseason. Known for his imposing 6’7” frame, athleticism, and high motor off the edge, Jackson was expected to compete for rotational snaps behind veterans Von Miller, Greg Rousseau, and A.J. Epenesa.

While the team has not disclosed the exact nature of Jackson’s injury, placing him on the active/PUP list means he can return to practice at any time during camp once medically cleared. However, it does raise concerns about how much of camp he may miss and whether it could affect his early-season development.

Head coach Sean McDermott downplayed any long-term worries, saying the move is “just part of the process” to ensure Jackson is 100% before returning to full-speed football. “We’re being smart with our young guys,” McDermott added. “Landon has a bright future, and we want to make sure he’s right.”

The Bills are hopeful Jackson’s stay on the PUP list will be short-lived. As a player with high upside and raw pass-rushing talent, his development could play a key role in Buffalo’s defensive depth in 2025 and beyond.

For now, fans will wait to see when Jackson returns to the field—and how quickly he can catch up in a competitive training camp environment.
