Former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Stefon Diggs has some big news.
The NFL star’s girlfriend, rapper Cardi B, announced on Wednesday that the couple is expecting their first child together.
“I’m having a baby with my boyfriend, Stefon Diggs,” Cardi B told anchor Gayle King in an interview on CBS Mornings.
The good news comes after an up-and-down year for Diggs, who missed a long stretch with an injury and has found a new home with the New England Patriots.
Cardi B Excited for Her Fourth Child
This will be the fourth child for Cardi B — whose real name is Belcalis Almánzar — and the first for Diggs. Cardi said she was excited for the new addition to the family and said it didn’t change her plans for work.
“I’m happy,” she said. “I feel like I’m in a good space. I feel very strong, very powerful that I’m doing all this work — but I’m doing all this work while I’m creating a baby.”
Cardi B added that she and Diggs are “supportive of each other” and both doing well in their respective careers.
“I feel like we’re really great and one of the best at what we do. And me and him think the same way. ‘Yeah, you’re one of the greatest, but what’s next. What are we doing again? We have to do it again, all the time.’ We’re never, like, comfortable. We just have to keep going it and that’s just what we are.”
She added that Diggs has been a supportive force, making her “feel safe and very confident and very strong.”
“Two weeks ago, I was literally having a panic attack,” she said. “I was like crying and crying and crying, just because I was getting really nervous with the whole album rollout. People were coming at me very hard; you know, sometimes people love you, people hate you. And people was just saying very mean things about me.”
Diggs and Cardi B were linked together last year and have since gone public with their relationship. The pair made several appearances together, including a New York Knicks game in May.
Stefon Diggs Gets Back on the Field
The Bills traded Diggs to the Houston Texans in the 2024 offseason, moving on from what had become a fractured relationship. General manager Brandon Beane said the team wanted to move Diggs early, getting as much return as possible while taking the immediate cap hit.
Diggs got off to a strong start with the Texans, making 47 receptions for 496 yards and three touchdowns through eight games, but suffered a season-ending injury. The Texans had voided the final year of Diggs’ contract after trading for him and chose not to bring him back, with Diggs signing with the New England Patriots.
