Dave Chisnall beat Ricardo Pietreczko 8-6 to win the tenth European Tour event of the year and go home with the £30,000 jackpot.
Luke Littler was stunned by Dirk Van Duijvenbode in the third round after the Dutch star thrashed the teenage sensation 6-2.
While Luke Humphries made it to the semi-finals in Antwerp before being knocked out by runner-up Pietreczko.
Antwerp winner Dave Chisnall reckons he wriggled off the hook against “Snakebite” Peter Wright before taking a stranglehold on the tournament.
In fact, the 43-year-old has arguably never “Adder” it so good.
Lifting the Flanders Darts Trophy made him the first person to land a Belgian double as he moved up a place to sixth in the PDC Order of Merit.
The Englishman said: “I’m really happy, it means a lot to me to win this
“The crowd were great, they brought the best out of me all weekend.
“I’ve played a great tournament; I got lucky against Peter [Wright] but apart from that I think I deserve to win the event.”
Chizzy added: “Backstage my manager told me it was my 100th European Tour event.
“So I said to him ‘let’s go win it then’ and thankfully that’s what I’ve done.
“I will win a TV event one day, it will happen. I won’t give in until it does.”
Ricardo Pietreczko was stunned to discover he’d become first German man to reach two European finals.
And despite losing the Flanders Trophy final 8-6 to Dave Chisnall, he was smiling broadly.
Fellow Germans Gabriel Clemens and Martin Schindler are above Pietreczko in the rankings.
But the latter is poised to surge into the world top 30 after his Antwerp achievements, notably dumping out the globe’s leading playing in Luke Humphries in the semi-finals.
And when told his national rivals hadn’t made two finals before, Pietreczko was briefly speechless.
He eventually said: “I didn’t know about this – I didn’t know this! But it’s very good for me.
“It’s very important for me to play in this tournament.”
Dave Chisnall was ecstatic after extending his extraordinary run of European titles.
The Englishman has now won six over the past two years, eight in all.
