Heartbreaking as Wayne Mardle has lost over 50 kilos of body weight after ending career due to CANCER

Wayne Mardle has been off top darts for years, but continued to work in the darts world by joining Sky Sports as an analyst. In that capacity, he provides his analysis on matches at the biggest majors.

Since working for Sky Sports, Mardle has lost a tremendous amount of weight. When Mardle was at his heaviest, he weighed as much as 127 pounds. A diet of fast food and booze during his playing career caused Mardle to gain weight.

But since he is no longer on the oche, he has been able to limit his unhealthy eating habits and stopped snacking, which he said has been the key to his weight loss. Mardle revealed that at his worst, his weight caused his body to “ache,” and sometimes he was shocked at how big he was.

In the podcast 50kg & Zero% Drop Podcast, the 51-year-old told his story of how he lost a huge amount of weight. ”I,” is how Mardle talks about his huge stature in the past.

“Do you know it’s the snacking. I know it’s the snacking. And I have, like I said, this has been ongoing for like…yeah since I’ve been 20 was when it was like, look at the size of me.

“So I’ve lost weight, put it on, lost weight, put it on. The last 13 years, I’ve kept five stone off. I went from 19 stone nine, so bordering 20 stone, to 12 stone 12. That’s 50 kilos.

“I couldn’t sustain it because I felt like my body was saying this might…it felt that it was too light for me.

“It soon went up to like 12.5, 13, 14. Now I try to keep it at 15. I’m in a constant battle to keep under 15 stone. It’s a day-to-day struggle.”

Earlier this week, Mardle attended the draw for the PDC World Darts Championship. ‘Hawaii 501’ will be back at the Alexandra Palace regularly in December to provide commentary and analysis for Sky Sports.
