Buffalo Bills add Super Bowl winner and have found the perfect replacement for Stefon Diggs

The Buffalo Bills have added another wide receiver to their roster, but still lack a true number one option to replace Stefon Diggs after trading him to the Houston Texans

The Buffalo Bills have added Super Bowl winner Marquez Valdes-Scantling to their roster, as they continue to search for a replacement for superstar Stefon Diggs.

Valdes-Scantling, who spent the last two seasons with the Chiefs and played a key role in both of their Super Bowl victories, was released by Kansas City to free up cap space for Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown. After two months as a free agent, he has now joined the Chiefs’ rivals, the Bills, where he will compete for a starting spot on a championship-quality team.

In a surprising move, the Bills traded away their star receiver, Stefon Diggs, to the Houston Texans this offseason, receiving future draft compensation in return. Rather than replacing him with a big name in free agency, the team has made several low-cost, high-potential signings at the position, with Valdes-Scantling being the latest addition.

Despite joining the ranks of Keon Coleman, Curtis Samuel, Khalil Shakir, Chase Claypool and Mack Hollins, all vying for a starting position, the Bills are still in need of a top-tier receiver to fill Diggs’ shoes. With no player on the Bills’ current roster having achieved a 1,000-receiving season, it leaves unanswered questions about who will become Josh Allen’s primary target.

Even though he’s a second-round rookie, the Bills have already expressed their expectations for Coleman to take on a significant role from the get-go. The 20 year old is anticipated to play as an outside receiver, despite many believing his optimal position would be in the slot.

It’s likely that Coleman will start alongside Shakir and Samuel, both of whom made a strong impression in the 2023 season as third-choice options. While the Bills have a variety of wide receivers at their disposal, they may turn to their impressive tight end for a greater share of the action this year.

Dalton Kincaid made a notable impact as a first-round pick last year, racking up 673 yards and two touchdowns over the season. He emerged as the clear number two option behind Diggs towards the end of the year, positioning the talented receiver to potentially receive the majority of targets moving forward.
