In a move that has sent shockwaves through the professional darts circuit, trailblazer Fallon Sherrock has officially filed a petition with the Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) and the Darts Regulation Authority (DRA), formally accusing world number one Beau Greaves of cheating via the use of “magnetic” darts.
The 39-page petition, submitted early Monday morning, alleges that Greaves has been using specially modified tungsten barrels containing a rare-earth magnetic core. Sherrock’s legal team claims this technology interacts with an electromagnetic device allegedly concealed in Greaves’ wristband, allowing her to “steer” the dart mid-flight toward the treble 20 or double beds.
“This is not about sour grapes; this is about the integrity of the sport,” Sherrock said in a statement released via her management. “I have watched the footage back frame-by-frame. The way her darts ‘wobble’ into the board defies the laws of physics. We have asked the DRA to scan her equipment and to inspect her wristbands from the last six months of competition.”
Greaves, 22, who has dominated the women’s circuit with record-breaking averages and a historic 2025 campaign, dismissed the allegations as “ludicrous” during a practice session in Doncaster.
“I’ve been playing darts since I was six years old. If I had a magnet in my dart, why would it only work when I’m aiming? Why wouldn’t it stick to the metal number ring or pull toward the wire?” Greaves joked to reporters. “Fallon is a legend of the game, but this feels like a distraction. I’m happy to hand over my darts for inspection tomorrow. Just make sure they give them back—they’re my lucky set.”
The petition has already polarized the darts world. Former world champion Raymond van Barneveld weighed in on social media, stating, “If true, it is the biggest scandal since the ‘Phil Taylor grip tape’ controversy. If false, it is a career-ending accusation.”
