Former PGA Tour pro Joel Dahmen received a four-stroke penalty for violating PGA Tour regulations at the Shriners Children’s Open

Joel Dahmen was penalised four strokes during the first round of the 2024 Shriners Children’s Open for violating one of the most basic rules of professional golf. Dahmen had one extra club in his bag, where only 14 are allowed.

Joel Dahmen incurred penalty strokes, two on each of the first and second holes, resulting in double bogeys on both. He self-reported a rules violation upon noticing an extra club, an iron 4, in his bag at the 4th tee.

The PGA Tour Communications account shared the decision made by the rules officials.
