Jan 16 (Reuters) – The PGA Tour has confirmed that the upcoming event hosted by Tiger Woods in Southern California next month will be held at an alternate venue due to the significant wildfires impacting parts of Los Angeles.
The Genesis Invitational, an esteemed PGA Tour Signature Event featuring a $20 million purse and supporting Woods’ TGR Foundation, will take place from February 13-16; however, it will not be at its usual location, Riviera Country Club in Pacific Palisades.
The PGA Tour is proactively exploring options for how the tournament can best support the Los Angeles community and relief efforts. While no replacement venues have been specified yet, and it’s undecided if the event will continue in California, the organization is committed to adapting to the circumstances.
“In collaboration with Genesis, The Riviera Country Club, and TGR Live, and in consideration of the ongoing situation, we have decisively chosen to hold the 2025 Genesis Invitational at an alternate location,” the PGA Tour stated confidently.
