“Quickest fine I’ve ever paid” jokes Rob Cross as he admits he’s ‘guilty’ of X-rated gesture after World Championship KO

The World No. 4 has made it clear that he has already faced a fine from the Darts Regulation Authority, and it hasn’t even been a month since his disappointing performance at Ally Pally.

Cross, 34, infamously made a lewd hand gesture to his manager as he exited the stage in frustration after being knocked out of the tournament in the first round.

He did secure a victory over Richard Veenstra in his opening Dutch Darts Masters match on Friday, stating, “I’m not sure if I should even discuss it. But let’s just say that the fine I received was paid faster than any I’ve encountered before. Usually, I leave it until the last moment. This time, it was swift and straightforward. I own up to my actions, and I’ve issued my apology.”

Reflecting on his performance, Cross showcased his return to form with a solid 6-3 win over Veenstra, following a shocking loss to Paolo Nebrida in Bahrain the previous week.

He remarked, “I took some time off after the Worlds, but there are no excuses. That 12-darter came at a crucial moment. While I can see flashes of my potential, it’s clear that I still need to deliver a complete performance.”
