Shane Lowry has seen his lead slip away at the 2024 Open Championship. He’s now tied for third place with Xander Schauffele and Justin Rose at four under par, with several holes left to play in the crucial third round.
However, it’s Lowy’s behavior that has garnered more attention than his game over the last few days. During the second round, Lowry found his ball in the thick gorse bushes on the 11th hole after he played a hook off the tee. A spectator tried to help him find the ball, but Lowry lashed out at him.
According to No Laying Up, Lowry was involved in a similar incident during the penultimate round of the Open Championship. Today, Lowry vented his frustration at someone who was struck by his golf ball inside the ropes. Here’s what the Irishman said:
“In the future, don’t stand in the middle of the f***ing fairway when we’re trying to hit, OK? “
